what inspires me

My work is driven by observation, imagination, and a love for stories. Not just any stories, but stories that are larger than life—stories filled with wonder, hope, joy, and the possibility of seeing the world differently.

Whether I am creating a mood board for a cloud kitchen, designing characters for an online gaming community, or developing concepts for a branding project, I am always searching for ways to bring something extraordinary into the everyday. I find inspiration everywhere. I observe people, spaces, conversations, and small moments that often go unnoticed. Travelling, watching films, listening to music, reading, and simply experiencing life help me gather ideas and understand the emotions that connect us. Every experience becomes a piece of a larger puzzle that eventually finds its way into my work.

One of the most important lessons I learnt about creativity came during the Covid lockdown. Like everyone else, I suddenly found my world reduced to a bedroom and a computer screen. The everyday interactions and human connections that we took for granted disappeared almost overnight. For a while, life felt confined and repetitive.

But creativity has a way of finding light even in difficult situations.

Instead of focusing on what was missing, I started creating. I transformed an ordinary Amazon cardboard box into a miniature house for my blind pug, surrounded myself with colour, and looked for ways to make each day feel a little more joyful. It was during this time that I created the book cover design that later won first prize. The experience taught me that art is not simply about making things look beautiful—it is about finding possibilities where others see limitations.

For me, creativity is closely connected to curiosity. A creative mind should ask questions, challenge assumptions, solve problems, and remain open to new perspectives. This is one of the reasons I enjoy debating social issues, participating in Model United Nations conferences, public speaking, editorial work, and leadership initiatives. These experiences encourage me to think critically, communicate clearly, and engage with ideas beyond the boundaries of art and design.

I believe that creativity thrives when it is supported by both imagination and intellect. Alongside Fine Arts, I study Economics, Political Science, Business Studies, Applied Mathematics, and English. This combination allows me to balance creative expression with analytical thinking, helping me approach projects with both freedom and structure.

Some of the projects I am most proud of include designing murals across my school campus, developing branding concepts, contributing to art exhibitions and gallery experiences through the Voice of Art initiative in partnership with the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, leading the school magazine, winning the Youth Eco Summit Short Film Competition, and receiving recognition at Vasant Valley School's Laissez Faire competition for Rebranding for Peace & Progress. Each project challenged me in different ways and helped shape my understanding of design as a tool for communication and impact.

At its heart, my creative process is simple: observe, imagine, question, and create.

I believe that great design can start conversations, and create positive change. Those are the kinds of stories I hope to tell through my work.
